It is recommended that video files be transferred to the computer's hard drive prior to playback. Older systems may encounter video playback issues when playing the video files directly off the camera over the USB cable.
Using the included USB Cable: With a memory card installed, and with the Mobius ActionCam powered off, connect the included USB cable to the Mobius, and then to an available USB port on the computer. The Mobius ActionCam will automatically power on and mount as removable storage, not unlike a thumb drive or memory stick. Open the drive corresponding with the camera, and navigate to the desired files. New, up to date computers should be able to playback video directly off the camera. However, if playback issues are encountered, or if an older computer is used, then the files should first be transferred to the computer's hard drive prior to playback.
Using the MicroSD card reader: Remove the MicroSD card from the Mobius ActionCam and then insert it into the included* MicroSD card reader. Insert the MicroSD card reader into an available USB port on the computer. The memory card will mount as removable storage, not unlike a thumb drive or memory stick. Most computers should be able to playback video files directly off the memory card. However, if playback issues are encountered, or if an older computer is used, then the files should first be transferred to the computer's hard drive prior to playback.
*Not all sellers of the Mobius ActionCam include a memory card reader with the camera.

To power on your Mobius ActionCam, briefly press the power button. The blue LED will briefly illuminate, followed by a solid orange LED about one second later. The solid orange LED indicates that the camera is powered on and in standby mode. If the the orange LED is flashing instead of solid, then the following could be the cause: (i) there is no memory card in the camera; (ii) the memory card in the camera isn't formatted; or (iii) the memory card in the camera is corrupt or defective.
It is possible to cycle between the three recording modes by simply pressing the mode button while the camera is powered on. A solid LED indicates that the camera is in standby. A flashing LED indicates that the camera is recording or taking a picture. The settings of each mode can be configured using the camera configuration utility. By default, the settings are as follows: Video Mode 1: 1920 x 1080 (30 fps) Video Mode 2: 1280 x 720 (60 fps) Photo Mode: 2304 x 1536
Upon receiving your Mobius ActionCam, the camera must be charged before use. Connect the Mobius ActionCam to a quality 5 volt charger rated at 1 amp or more, and charge until the green led turns off (approximately 2 - 2.5 hours ). If using a charger rated lower than 1 amp, allow for extra charging time. Do not use a USB hub. Failure to allow adequate charging time, or the use of poor quality chargers, can lead to premature failure of the battery, and possibly even of the camera.
The Mobius ActionCam requires a MicroSD memory card* in order to record video or capture photos. The Mobius ActionCam supports memory cards up to 32GB** in size. A genuine, name brand, memory card rated at Class 4 or higher is recommended. Only use name brand memory cards purchased in retail packaging from trusted sources. No-name brands, generic cards, and branded cards purchased loose without retail packaging are often counterfeits as to speed class, capacity, or brand. If in doubt, use a utility such as h2testw to verify that the memory card complies with its advertised specifications. Kingston Class 4 memory cards are recommended.
Most cards come pre-formatted and offer trouble free operation out of the box. However, should formatting issues be encountered, the use of the SD Formatter utility is highly recommended.
The MicroSD card should be inserted into the camera as shown below.
The Mobius ActionCam HD Sports Camera does not ship with a printed instruction manual. Instead, there is a .pdf manual, which can be downloaded and viewed with Adobe Acrobat Reader. A link to the official .pdf manual can be found at the bottom of the page.
The installation of a memory card, or lack thereof, will determine what happens when the Mobius is connected to a computer.
No memory card installed: If the Mobius is connected to a computer via the USB cable with no memory card installed, then the Mobius will enter web cam mode. The connected computer will automatically configure and install any necessary drivers. However, webcam software will be needed to view the video. Depending on the computer's manufacturer, such software might already be installed.
Memory card installed: If the Mobius is connected to a computer via the USB cable with a memory card installed, the camera will mount as removable storage, not unlike a thumb drive or memory stick. Once mounted, video files can then be transferred to the connected computer for viewing and editing. The Mobius will mount as storage on a PC, as well as Mac and Linux based systems.
**It is technically possible to use a 64GB cards by formatting the card as FAT32. This feature is not officially supported by the manufacturer, and will be subject to file size limits of 4GB. Do not update the firmware using a 64GB or larger card.
The Mobius ActionCam camera requires about 2.5 hours to fully recharge a discharged battery. To charge, connect the Mobius with the included USB data/charging cable to a quality 5v charger rated at 1 amp (1000 mAh) or more. The charger from an iPhone, iPad, or recent Android smartphone/tablet should be sufficient. If using a charger rated lower than 1 amp, allow for extra charging time. Failure to allow adequate charging time, or the use of poor quality chargers, can lead to premature failure of the battery, and possibly even of the camera.
